Where do you live?
Shawnee, Kansas
Where is your hometown?
Eldora, Iowa
What was your career journey, to where you are now?
For the past 15 years, I’ve been working at an architecture firm as an interior designer, project manager, and client relationship manager. For the past decade or so, I have focused mainly on nationwide clients and have worked on projects across the country. My most recent experience is working with national companies on post-COVID, future workplace ideation and design projects. In just one week here at PBS, I’ve seen a lot of affinities between what GSA is working on and what’s going on in the broader nation. I’m really excited to be a part of the future of workplace design for our customers.
What other federal government or military experience have you had and for how long?
None as a federal employee, but I have done some work on government building and furniture projects at my previous firm.
What is your alma mater, degree or special training?
I have a bachelor’s degree in history from Pepperdine University and attended graduate school at Iowa State University studying interior design.
How do you recharge your batteries outside of work?
I’m an avid reader. I enjoy hiking with my husband and spending time with my lifelong group of girlfriends.
Tell us a little about yourself. Children? Pets? Married? Hobbies?
I have a 3-year-old daughter and two stepdaughters in high school. My husband and I have been married for six years. Our family likes camping, traveling to the beach, watching the Chiefs, bike riding, and pretty much any sport or outdoor activity.
What is one of the items on your bucket list?
I’d really love to visit Machu Picchu.
What characteristic or value do you most admire in others?
Leadership and sense of humor.
