Jason Klumb Bids Farewell to GSA

I serve at the pleasure of this president and must leave with this president,” he said. “My position ends around the same time as the inauguration.”

In a message to regional employees on Dec. 9, Klumb announced his last day would be Dec. 16.

“You are the great joy of being at GSA,” he wrote. “I have said that before, and I understand if it sounds sentimental. It also happens to be true. You are servants of the public in pursuit of improving our nation. I am impressed and inspired. You have tackled and overcome many challenges in our time together – including sweeping organizational changes and the relocation of the Regional headquarters. Being a part of your team and working beside you has been my greatest honor. Thank you for letting me be a part of this journey with you.”

His exit coincided with the authorization of $200 million for the remediation and disposition of the Bannister Federal Complex in Kansas City, Mo. Klumb played a key in helping the GSA team prepare the World War II manufacturing facility for transfer out of the federal inventory.

Regionally, I inherited some banner projects and was able to, for example, join the groundbreaking and see the construction for the NNSA campus. That was the largest project in the region’s history and one of the largest projects in GSA history,” he said. “I was happy to see almost all of the federal tenants at the Bannister complex stay in the KC Metro area.”
