Order of Succession – Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs

1.  Purpose. This Order establishes the order of succession for the Office of Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs, General Services Administration.    

2.  Background. GSA Order ADM 2430.1A, The U.S. General Services Administration Continuity Program, outlines GSA’s continuity requirements, and identifies each GSA component’s responsibilities to ensure resilience and continued performance of GSA’s functions.  

3.  Associate Administrator for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs. The following officials are designated to serve as Acting Associate Administrator, in the following order of succession, during the absence or incapacity (i.e., death, resignation, incapacitation, or other inability to perform the functions and duties of the position) of the Associate Administrator. Each designee shall act with the full authority and responsibility of the Associate Administrator and shall occupy the office of the Associate Administrator. In the event that an official designated is not available, the next available designated official will act. 

     (1)  Deputy Associate Administrator

     (2)  Senior Policy Advisor

     (3)  Director of Operations

     (4)  Director of National Support

If regional devolution required:

     (5)  Deputy Director National Support, Region 7

     (6)  Deputy Director National Support, Region 4

No official serving in a position listed above in an acting capacity shall act as Associate Administrator for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs pursuant to this Order.


4.  Exercise of Authority. An official serving as Acting Associate Administrator shall, in that capacity, exercise all the authorities and perform all the functions of the Office of the  for Congressional and Intergovernmental Affairs.
