Members of our affinity and Special Emphasis Programs

Our employee-driven affinity groups and Special Emphasis Programs (SEPs) offer employees a space to connect around shared interests, identities, or experiences. These groups not only foster a more inclusive environment through cultural awareness, but also address unique challenges faced by diverse groups. SEPs, in particular, play a crucial role in advocating for equal opportunities for groups that have historically experienced workplace discrimination.

What was your career journey before you got to GSA?

After obtaining a M.S. in Information Technology from George Mason University, I began my career in the industry as a contractor in network engineering and information assurance under the DHS office of the chief information officer. I left the world of government contracting to serve as a technology strategist at National Public Radio before joining GSA as a project manager/contracting officer representative. Additionally, I proudly serve as a cyber systems operator in the United States Air Force Reserves.

Describe what you do for GSA and what a typical day is like.

I am a COR within the Acquisition and Assistance Services department, my typical day entails leading a team of alternate CORs and project performance managers. My daily responsibilities include evaluating the financial status of task orders, collecting feedback from our Technical Direction Letter clients and actively engaging with clients to address site-specific, contracted support, or program level issues. Additionally, I prepare task order modifications, provide contract oversight and guidance to both vendor and government customers, and escalate critical issues to the contracting officer or division director level when necessary.

What is the best part about working for GSA?

At GSA, I am presented with unique challenges every day, which has helped me grow and improve my problem-solving skills. I take pride in supporting the United States Air Force and their mission.

What was your career journey before you got to GSA?

I joined GSA as part of an internship program, marking the start of an incredible chapter in my professional life. Before joining GSA, I enlisted in the U.S. Navy as an 18-year-old, just two weeks after graduating high school. I served faithfully for eight years. I have dedicated over two decades to military and public service within the U.S. government, which I consider a profound honor, blessing, and privilege.

Describe what you do for GSA and what a typical day is like.

As a supervisory business management specialist within the Customer Strategic Solutions Division of the Information Technology Category, I am entrusted with helping agencies navigate their information technology requirements and challenges.
