NCR Honored at 2019 Momentum Awards
The General Services Administration (GSA) National Capital Region (NCR) was recently honored at the DowntownDC Business Improvement District (BID) 2019 Momentum Awards held on December 3, 2019 at the Ronald Reagan Building and International Trade Center.
NCR Administrator, Scott Anderson, was on hand at the event to accept the Partnership of the Year Award for NCR’s support in the installation of a mural titled, ‘In Service,’ which is an artistic tribute to veterans depicted on the walls of the McPherson Square metro stop. GSA shares the accolade with the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (WMATA), the Department of Veterans Affairs, and Words Beats & Life. Anderson recognized the cross collaboration stating, “As the son of an Army veteran it was an honor to participate in this event and represent the National Capital Region. The ‘In Service’ mural project reinforces what partnership and teamwork are all about.” The annual event aims to publicly recognize people, places, and projects that help enhance downtown D.C. and showcase areas of the city that make it a great place to live, work, and play.
Neil Albert, President and CEO of DowntownDC BID hailed the project saying, “The ‘In Service’ mural adds new vibrancy, engagement, and a sense of place to this important gateway to downtown DC.”
The following NCR employees were also acknowledged for their contribution to the project: Ricardo Hamilton, Supervisory Building Manager, Darell Gillespie, Mechanical Engineering Technician, Michael Hines, Mechanical Engineering Technician, and Paul Gyamfi, NEPA Compliance Specialist.
