BOSTON – Today, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) is offering for sale by public auction a former Social Security Administration (SSA) Office Building in Racine, Wisconsin. The local Social Security Administration office is moving to a new location in Mount Pleasant, WI.
This auction represents GSA’s commitment to serving American taxpayers, reducing government spending, and responsible stewardship of public assets.
Built in 1972 and located at 4020 Durand Avenue in Racine, WI, the property has been well-maintained and is expected to be vacant no later than the end May 2025.

This sale includes:
- An 8,082 square foot, one-story brick building on a 0.6-acre lot.
- 24 paved parking spaces.
The condition of the property is not warranted.
Auction Details:
- The auction opened May 12, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. CT (3 p.m. ET).
- Interested bidders are required to register in advance and submit a $20,000 registration deposit.
- The starting bid is $100,000.
- Bid increments are $10,000.
