GSA Art in Architecture celebrates African American artists in the Pacific Rim Region
February is Black History Month. A time to reflect, acknowledge and pay tribute to the contributions, triumphs and struggles of African Americans throughout the nation’s history. Dating back to the Harlem Renaissance, art has been used to penetrate the soul in expressing the Black experience. Black Art transcends time, celebrates previous generations and preserves organic access to a vital part of history that is too often underrepresented.
Join us as we observe Black History Month, recognize African American artists and celebrate their representation and contribution to the art community and our public federal buildings and spaces.
GSA’s Fine Arts Collection remains committed to representing the American experience through artistic expression in federal architecture.
