GSA to Host Industry Day July 15 for New Federal Courthouse in Hartford

HARTFORD, Conn. – Today, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announced it will host an Industry Day July 15 to inform interested businesses about a new Federal Courthouse Project in Hartford. The Abraham A. Ribicoff Federal Building and Courthouse, constructed in 1963, no longer has the space, functionality, security or building systems necessary.

To meet the needs of the court, the new facility will have 281,000 gross square feet, 11 courtrooms, 18 Judges’ chambers, offices for court-related agencies, and 66 secured parking spaces. Construction is anticipated to begin in 2027, with substantial completion in 2030.

“This Courthouse project symbolizes our ongoing dedication to supporting the Federal judicial system in Connecticut, creating local jobs, and investing in infrastructure that will serve the state for decades to come,” said Public Buildings Service Commissioner Michael Peters.

Design-build firms, architect-engineering firms, general construction contractors, subcontractor trades and material suppliers are encouraged to attend. This is an opportunity to network with GSA representatives about small business opportunities associated with this project and other aspects associated with government contracting. The event is neither a solicitation nor a request for a proposal. The project’s design and construction contract solicitation is anticipated in September 2025.

All interested parties, regardless of event attendance, are encouraged to submit responses to registration questions, which may be used during a facilitated, panel question and answer session at the event. Additional project information and all related documents are available at gsa.gov/hartfordcourthouse.
