GSA Sells $3.49M Office Condominium in Austin

Fort Worth, TEXAS – Today, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announced the completion of a $3.49 million public sale of a vacant office condominium located at Stillhouse Canyon Office Park in Austin, Texas. The sale marks a strategic step in ongoing efforts by President Trump’s GSA to evaluate underutilized assets and shrink the federal footprint to reduce taxpayer expenses.

The transaction for the former National Credit Union Administration (NCUA) building is expected to save taxpayers over $280,000 in annual maintenance costs. Through collaboration with NCUA and utilizing their Federal Credit Union Act authority, GSA swiftly and efficiently sold this property, which received a total of 25 bids as a result of GSA’s marketing efforts. GSA’s strategic approach demonstrates our comprehensive capability in optimizing federal real estate transactions.

“This sale is an example of our commitment to reducing the federal footprint and delivering value for the American taxpayer,” said PBS Commissioner Michael Peters. “We are strategically divesting underperforming assets, saving in maintenance costs, and ensuring that federal resources are utilized efficiently.”

In addition to the public sale of this building, GSA has separately identified other assets for accelerated disposition from government ownership in an orderly fashion to ensure taxpayers no longer pay for empty and underutilized federal office space, or the significant maintenance costs associated with long-term building ownership — potentially saving more than $430 million in total annual operating costs.

GSA remains committed to solving long-term problems that exist in the federal portfolio of assets, reduce waste, and deliver long-term value to the American people.
