GSA and USPS announce 10 new credentialing locations available for federal workers
Additional ID verification and onboarding locations in post offices make credentialing easier and faster for federal employees
WASHINGTON — The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) and U.S. Postal Service (USPS) announced the opening of ten new USAccess Credentialing Post Office Sites (CPOS) in fiscal year 2024 (FY 2024).
The ten additional sites opened in FY 2024 are located in the following cities:
- New York.
- Chicago.
- Rio Rancho, N.M.
- Los Angeles.
- Fernandina Beach, Fla.
- Sacramento, Calif.
- Columbus, Ohio.
- San Bruno, Calif.
- Norman, Okla.
- Fredericksburg, Va.
These locations were strategically selected due to a high demand for credentialing services. As a result, the USAccess CPOS locations completed 45,000 appointments and serviced over 24,471 enrollments in FY 2024.
“The collaboration between GSA and USPS on the USAccess Program has increased efficiency and improved customer experience, demonstrated by a satisfaction rating of 91 percent,” said GSA’s Director of Identity Credential and Access Management Division, Darlene Gore. “We look forward to continuing to make huge improvements to every federal employee’s experience with onboarding and credentialing by opening more convenient and accessible USAccess CPOS in additional locations this upcoming fiscal year.”
“The US Postal Service is honored to collaborate with GSA to offer credentialing services for federal employees in select retail locations nationwide,” said U.S. Postal Service, Director of Retail Operations, Tracy Raymond. “Given the USPS’ vast retail footprint, we can assist with expanding location options for the USAccess program, making it more convenient for customers. We look forward to further expansions and servicing federal sector employees who are seeking credentialing services.”
A total of 25 USAccess CPOS opened throughout the continental United States over the past three years. The ten additional USPS sites provide relief for federal workers needing to enroll, receive, and update their Personal Identity Verification Credentials (per Homeland Security Presidential Directive-12) closer to where they live and in a more timely way. More locations are slated to open in FY 2025.
