It’s #NDEW2022! (National Drive Electric Week 2022)
Post filed in: Electric Vehicles
Tomorrow starts National Drive Electric Week, a campaign raising awareness about the benefits of full-battery electric and plug-in hybrid vehicles. At GSA, we celebrate this week because we help our federal agency partners plan, acquire and deploy electric vehicles.
Our goal is to simplify electric vehicle adoption, and provide the necessary training resources and data so our customers can make the best decisions for their fleets.
By 2027, 100% of federal fleet light-duty vehicle acquisitions will be electric. By 2035, 100% of all vehicle acquisitions will be electric. Although these are future goals, we — and our partner agencies — know we have to start now. This is a really exciting time in the electric vehicle space!
We expect more electric vehicles to come to market in different model types and vehicle classes than ever before. Automotive companies General Motors, Ford, and Stellantis have together invested $120 billion to put millions of electric vehicles on the road by 2030.
Infrastructure
We awarded blanket purchase agreements (BPAs) this past April that provide level 1, 2, and DC fast charging stations. The BPAs also include management software network and other ancillary make-ready services. There were 16 BPAs awarded, nine of which were awarded to small businesses.
This all-in-one solution makes it easier for our customers across the federal government to procure the charging stations they need to keep their vehicles ready to go.
