GSA to Host a Public Meeting on the Draft Environmental Assessment for the Land Port of Entry Project in Fort Fairfield, Maine

BOSTON – Today, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announced that it will host a public meeting on June 10, 2025, to review the Draft Environmental Assessment (EA) for the proposed modernization and expansion project of the Land Port of Entry at Fort Fairfield, Maine.

This project will improve port operations and enhance safety and security for Federal inspection personnel and travelers. GSA’s goal for the project is to provide the necessary operational space, reduce traffic congestion, and enhance safety conditions.

GSA has prepared a Draft EA to analyze potential impacts from the proposed expansion and modernization project at the port. During the public meeting, GSA will present an overview of the proposed project and seek comments on the Draft EA. GSA representatives will be available for one-on-one conversations following the comment period of the meeting.

The Draft EA is available on GSA’s website at http://gsa.gov/fortfairfield. Hard copies of the Draft EA are available for review at the Fort Fairfield Public Library, 339 Main Street, Fort Fairfield, Maine.

Written comments regarding the Draft EA must be received by 5:00 p.m. ET on June 23, using one of the following methods:

In-Person: Submit written comments at the June 10 public meeting via comment forms distributed at the meeting.
