OSDBU Matchmaking Event Success Continues

On May 21, 2021 The Office of Small Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU) and General Services Administration (GSA) Region One held a successful online matchmaking event hosting large federal prime contractors and small businesses looking for possible subcontracts. The virtual setting allowed for 24 face-to-face meetings to discuss services provided by the small businesses.

Acting Regional Administrator and Regional Commissioner for R1 Public Buildings Service, Glenn Rotondo, gave welcome remarks alongside Exodie C. Roe III, Associate Administrator for OSDBU.

“In Region One we believe in fostering relationships and providing opportunities for small businesses wherever we can,” said Rotondo at the start of the event. “I hope you find today’s session informative, useful, and walk away with some connections that will prove valuable now and throughout the future.”

Roe highlighted the importance of the day’s conversations and stressed that the goal of the event was to develop large prime to small subcontractor partnerships in order to position their businesses for success.

“For the past eleven years GSA has consistently exceeded our Small Disadvantaged Business goal, closing out fiscal year 2020 at 22% which equates to $1.2 Billion awarded to Small Disadvantaged Businesses,” stated Roe. “This is a significant achievement because GSA was still able to create opportunities for Small Disadvantaged Businesses despite being in the midst of a global pandemic.”

The mission of OSDBU is to promote increased access to GSA’s nationwide procurement opportunities. The Region One OSDBU goal is to connect, educate, and advocate for small businesses hailing from Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island, New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine.
