Climate Resilience

Climate Resilience at GSA means:

  • Taking actions to maintain existing systems and structures
  • Renew, develop, and innovate to improve the ability of systems and structures to adapt to small and large changes

GSA accounts for climate change risk management with project planning, facilities management and beyond. The design criteria includes critical infrastructure, storm water, and water intrusion. We also audit buildings to prioritize risk, incorporate climate change into the Guiding Principles Checklist, and determine flood mitigation plans for projects.

Region One is part of a multiple agency cooperation to protect the natural environment, public health, and support the needs of states, Tribes, and communities of New England. The group was formed to work on complex environmental issues of concern to the New England Region It's goal is to coordinate across federal programs to communicate and collaborate effective solutions to issues of shared interest, provide content for Climate Resilience Toolkit and work together to plan for and address regional issues such as drought, floods, climate change, sedimentation, and coastal assessment and management.
