The American Rescue Plan (ARP) Delivers Significant Impact for New England Region

BOSTON – Last week, President Biden signed the $1.9 trillion rescue package, delivering significant impact to families in the New England region.

Because of the American Rescue Plan (ARP) each state will receive:

  • Economic impact payments of up to $1,400 per person (above the $600 per person provided in December)
  • Additional relief of up to $1,600 per child through the Child Tax Credit
  • Additional relief of up to nearly $1,000 through the Earned Income Tax
  • Access to lower marketplace health insurance premiums

Additionally, President Biden’s ARP provides specific impact to each state (for more information visit the linked state fact sheets.) These include:

Connecticut

  • $2.9 billion in state fiscal relief
  • $1.36 billion in local fiscal relief
  • More than $1.1 billion in relief for K-12 schools

Maine

  • $1.432 billion in state fiscal relief
  • $438 million in local fiscal relief
  • More than $424 million in relief for K-12 schools

Massachusetts

  • $5.3 billion in state fiscal relief
  • $2.6 billion in local fiscal relief
  • More than $1.897 billion in relief for K-12 schools

New Hampshire

  • $1.419 billion in state fiscal relief
  • $439 million in local fiscal relief
  • More than $362.2 million in relief for K-12 schools

Rhode Island

  • $1.5 billion in state fiscal relief
  • $400 million in local fiscal relief
  • More than $415 million in relief for K-12 schools

Vermont

  • $1.3 billion in state fiscal relief
  • $194 million in local fiscal relief
  • More than $285 million in relief for K-12 schools
