According to post-event surveys, attendees were thrilled with the Great Lakes Region Customer Forum held Aug. 20 at the Metcalfe Conference Center in Chicago.

Feedback from the 58 customer attendees, representing 13 agencies, strongly encouraged similar future events.

Participants wrote several positive comments, including:

  • “Great event.”
  • “The breakout sessions were very informative and provided excellent new ways of doing my job better, faster and smarter.”
  • “The presenters were VERY knowledgeable and answered all questions thoroughly. Highly recommend!”

“This was about engaging customers in an effective, productive and face to face way,” said GSA Client Solutions Manager Kim Ribich. “We specifically chose not to live stream because we wanted it to be an in-person event. Many of these people hadn't been to a GSA hosted event in years, and it indirectly benefited GSA travel budgets by having customers come to us.”

Sessions included an Introduction to the Federal Acquisition Service and a variety of real estate and facilities-related presentations, including PBS Customer Dashboard, Cost Management, Reducing Rent in Leased Space, eRETA Adoption, Strategic Capital Investment, Planning and Requirements, Pricing Policy Basics, Succeeding Lease Analysis Tool and Workplace Trends.

Over the summer, subject matter experts created, refined and “test drove” their presentations. The region will consider another customer forum in FY2021 or later.
