GSA announces public auction of former Rosa Parks Federal Building in Detroit, Michigan
DETROIT – The U.S. General Services Administration is conducting an online auction of 333 Mount Elliott St, formerly known as the Rosa Parks Federal Building, in Detroit, Michigan, as part of its mission to deliver value and savings in real estate, acquisition, technology, and other mission support services across the government.
The site is listed on GSA’s real property website www.realestatesales.gov as 333 Mount Elliott St. It is located in the former warehouse and shipping district east of downtown Detroit and is offered “AS IS” and “WHERE IS.” Notably, an existing larger federal building at 985 Michigan Ave. in Detroit will now carry the name of Rosa Parks, per a law signed by President Biden on March 22.

The former Rosa Parks Federal Building:
- Was constructed in 1933.
- Is located on approximately 3.18 acres of land with 42,655 square feet of office, storage, and other space.
- Consists of the historic building and annex, a boiler house, a garage, and a paved parking lot.
- Is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

The auction opened on WEDNESDAY, MAY 15, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. CT
Those interested in bidding are required to register in advance and submit a $25,000 registration deposit. The starting bid will be $400,000 and bid increments will be $15,000. Site inspections will only be offered by appointment only.
