Courts family, GSA gather virtually for annual planning
Almost 60 representatives from the Federal Judiciary, Administrative Office of the U.S. Courts, Executive Office for the U.S. Attorneys, U.S. Marshals Service, Federal Protective Service and GSA met virtually July 14 for an annual strategic planning meeting. Region 6 is one of only a few regions in the country to host such a meeting.
This year’s meeting covered topics such as COVID-19 building operations, telework, budget planning, and agency updates — since the agencies are connected within U.S. courthouses.
“It’s safe to say that 2020 doesn’t look like any of us predicted,” said GSA Regional Commissioner Kevin Rothmier. “But I am incredibly proud of how our GSA Region 6 family has come together, kept our everyday business moving forward, and tackled new and challenging work in extraordinary ways. I am also proud of our customer agencies for your partnership and patience through it all.”
In GSA’s four-state region alone, the Public Buildings Service team is tracking reoccupancy plans for more than 150 agencies in over 1,000 individual space assignments, Rothmier said.
“I commend you all for carrying out annual strategic planning in an environment where planning for the future is so challenging,” said GSA Senior Advisor Judy Dungan. “You have some hard work ahead of you.”
