Community Stakeholders Information Meeting for the Bridge of the Americas Land Port of Entry Modernization Project
Funded by the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, the project is part of President Biden’s Investing in America Agenda
El Paso, Texas - The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), U.S. Department of Homeland Security - Customs and Border Protection (CPB) and Richter Architects will host a Community Stakeholders Information Meeting for the Bridge of the Americas Land Port of Entry Modernization Project this Thursday, August 17, 2023, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. local time. The meeting will take place at the El Paso County Coliseum - VIP Meeting Room (4100 Paisano Drive) in El Paso.
During the meeting, GSA will present information on the development of project alternatives, share project schedules and goals, and engage with the public to share any expectations and concerns regarding the proposed work.
The open house format will encourage discussion and information sharing and provide opportunities for the public to speak one on one with GSA representatives.
The planned modernization project includes a new administration building, new pedestrian processing lanes, new primary inspection building, new passenger vehicle lanes, and new commercial vehicle inspection area. The project will be designed in a way that will help improve traffic flow and decrease wait times for travelers while also improving border security. The project does not include work on the bridge itself.
