GSA Announces New Lease for Occupancy by U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration will Save Taxpayers More than $100 Million
WASHINGTON, D.C. - The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) today signed a lease for the U.S. Department of Justice - Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) headquarters facility with CSHV Lincoln Place, LLC.
The DEA headquarters, located at 600-700 Army Navy Drive in Arlington, Virginia will house nearly 2,500 personnel and include a visitors’ center and museum. The new 15 year lease is for 511,487 rentable square feet. The facility will provide DEA a modern, efficient workplace while saving taxpayers more than $100 million over the term of the lease.
“GSA had an excellent collaborative partnership with DEA throughout the procurement process, which contributed to a very successful outcome and significant cost savings for the American taxpayer,” said GSA Administrator Emily Murphy. “This project is another example of GSA’s work to save taxpayer dollars through effective real estate management and provides our partners at DEA the space they need to better serve the American people.”
“GSA is pleased to provide DEA with an efficient, long term housing solution that meets its headquarters requirements, while also saving taxpayers more than $100 million over 15 years,” said GSA’s Public Buildings Service Commissioner Daniel Mathews. “This solution is a great example of GSA’s ongoing work to reduce the cost of the federal inventory and provide effective real estate solutions for our customer agencies.”
The lease was the result of a full and open procurement.
