Accounts and Collections
GSA manages more than 1,200 Transportation Service Providers accounts within the Transportation Audits Management System to ensure the successful e-delivery of the Notice of Overcharge. TSPs are encouraged to review their account profiles periodically to ensure the most current contact information is on file. TAMS enables TSPs to manage their account and receive e-notifications for actions related to their account, i.e., NOCs issued, protest/claims statuses, offsets, and more.
GSA initiates actions to collect debts owed to the U.S. Government by freight, household goods, and passenger TSPs, and assists the Department of Justice on behalf of the United States in bankruptcy and other related debts.
GSA coordinates and tracks debt collection through other government agencies with automated internal processes and collection technicians. Deduction and administrative offset actions are taken through various agencies, including third-party payment systems and the US Treasury. If a NOC is not protested or paid within 30 days of issuance, an involuntary deduction process may be initiated. If a resolution fails through one of the government agency’s automated internal processes, a collection technician will send follow up emails and/or make phone calls to the TSP requesting payment or an explanation of nonpayment. If the aforementioned fails, the debt will be transferred to the US Treasury where additional fees and/or penalties will be added to the principal amount of the overcharge.
TSPs can submit payment via the following options:
- TAMS https://tams.gsa.gov
- Pay.gov (ACH, PayPal, debit card)
- TSP initiates deduction via interface with US Bank Syncada
- Mail check (Identify the Document Reference Number (DRN) and “TAMS” on check or addendum):
