Events Requiring Notification to the GSA Emergency Operations Center (EOC)

Purpose:

This Order issues guidance on events to be reported to the General Services Administration (GSA) Emergency Operations Center (EOC), operated by the Office of Mission Assurance (OMA). 

Background:

This policy enhances the level of safety, security, and awareness across GSA. It provides the Critical Information Requirements (CIRs) that must be reported to the EOC. The EOC evaluates submissions for potential further reporting.

The EOC is not an alternative to emergency services. In an Emergency Dial 9-1-1 and/or the Federal Protective Service (FPS) MegaCenter (1-877-4FPS-411) as appropriate.

Applicability:

This Order applies to all GSA employees and contractors as they perform their duties. The following are exceptions:

  1. The Office of Inspector General (OIG), given its independence under the Inspector General Reform Act of 2008 (5 U.S.C. §§ 401-424).
  2. The Civilian Board of Contract Appeals, due to its independent authorities.

Cancellation:

This Order cancels and supersedes OMA 2400.2 CHGE 2, Events Requiring Notification to the GSA Emergency Operations Center, dated May 14, 2018.
