From how we build and support our staff to how we ensure equitable access, we’re dedicated to delivering for all of America’s communities through our work across the government.

Below, we highlight some of the key priority areas and actions we’ve accomplished in response to the Biden-Harris Administration’s whole-of-government chargeto take concrete steps that address systemic barriers and expand access to opportunity for underserved communities.

• Ensuring government tech works for everyone

  

  We are dedicated to improving digital accessibility and modernizing how government services are delivered to the American people. • Federal procurement

  

  Read about our plan to reduce barriers and increase overall contract dollars awarded to small disadvantaged businesses and underserved communities in our Supplier Diversity and Equity action plan [PDF - 125 KB]. We also have many resources to support Tribal communities and HBCUs and minority-serving institutions through procurement opportunities and partnerships. 

• Civil rights compliance in our federally assisted programs

  

  Our civil rights compliance reviews of the largest recipients of federal surplus personal property demonstrate our commitment to the fair and equitable donation of federal surplus property to eligible underserved communities and eligible non-profit organizations.

• Public buildings

  

  In our data-driven report, SmartMarket Report: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Design and Construction [PDF - 4 MB], discover how partnerships between government, industry, and local communities help increase diversity and promote inclusion in the real estate and construction fields, support economic recovery, and improve customer experiences at federal facilities. Additionally, GSA’s project implementation of historic Bipartisan Infrastructure Law and Inflation Reduction Act investments are helping tackle the negative effects of climate change, create local jobs, and support the livability and vitality of communities nationwide.
