How GSA is Expanding Access to Electric Vehicle Charging Infrastructure
Post filed in: Fleet
National Drive Electric Week may be winding down, but we’re still focusing on it here in our Office of Transportation, Travel and Logistics. As I mentioned in my last blog post, we’re working to offer more electric vehicles (EVs) to our federal agency partners. And unlike previous era EVs, some current models have ranges of up to 300 miles or more on a single charge — making them a more practical way to help agencies support their federal missions while advancing climate change goals.
Planning for more electric vehicles on the road requires additional charging infrastructure. We currently offer several solutions for charging infrastructure that include Level 1, 2, and DC fast charging stations. Prices are more than 30% below commercial pricing.
Many unique solutions are on the market and we aim to provide charging options to meet the needs of every agency. New opportunities may include solar, portable, and battery storage options, along with vehicle-to-grid and charge management.
Agencies can use our existing charging infrastructure blanket purchase agreement, or use Multiple Award Schedule. Our easy-to-use Schedule includes dozens of brands and types of charging stations powered through solar energy. In FY22, we’ll continue to provide the most current and applicable solutions federal agencies need to support their electrification goals.
