GSA Invites Public Feedback on Proposed Land Port of Entry Expansion in Norton, Vermont

BOSTON  Today, the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) announced that it will host a public meeting on Sept. 18, 2025, to present the draft environmental assessment for the modernization project of the Land Port of Entry at Norton, Vermont.

The proposed project would allow U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) to more efficiently carry out its agency mission at the international border crossing between Norton, Vermont and Stanhope, Quebec.

GSA has prepared a draft environmental assessment to analyze potential impacts from the proposed modernization project at the port. During the meeting, GSA will present and seek public comments (written or verbal) on this document.

The draft environmental assessment is available on GSA’s website at http://gsa.gov/norton. Copies of the draft environmental assessment are available for review at the 
Norton Town Office.

All are encouraged to attend and participate in the public meeting on:

WHEN: Thursday, Sept. 18, 2025, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Eastern time

WHERE: Norton Town Office, 12 VT-114 East, Norton, Vermont

The meeting may be attended virtually via Zoom. Those interested in attending virtually can email Norton.LPOE@gsa.gov for login information.

During the meeting, project information will be presented and distributed to the attendees. Project information, including the meeting materials, will be available on the project website.

Written comments regarding the Draft Environmental Assessment must be received by 5:00 p.m. Eastern time on Sept. 30, 2025, using one of the following methods:

  • In-person: Submit written comments at the public meeting via comment forms to be distributed at the meeting.
  • Email: Send an email to Norton.LPOE@gsa.gov and reference “Norton LPOE EA” in the subject line.
