National Capital Region’s Office of Small Business Utilization, OSBU, is the first point of contact for business located throughout Washington, DC; Maryland, Montgomery and Prince George’s counties; and Virginia, the cities of Alexandria and Falls Church, and Arlington, Fairfax, Loudoun, and Prince William counties.
The NCR OSBU serves as the regional advocate for small businesses and provides information about various government contracts and procurement opportunities. The center is especially interested in locating and assisting these entities: small, small disadvantaged and Section 8(a), woman-owned small, HUBZone small, veteran-owned small and service-disabled veteran owned small businesses.
The center’s small business assistance team is proactive in ensuring that small businesses have the maximum practicable opportunity to compete for and receive government contracts. To ensure inclusion of regional small businesses the OSBU: conducts networking sessions, roundtables, hosts bimonthly training workshops, and provides one-on-one counseling. The NCR OSBU provides support and assistance in planning, implementing and coordinating programs to help the Region meet its socio-economic contracting goals. NCR’s Office of Small Business Utilization mission is to promote increased access to GSA’s national procurement opportunities.
