In fiscal year 2016, Congress authorized funding for the construction of a new U.S. District Courthouse to meet the Federal Judiciary’s current and long-term housing needs in Greenville, South Carolina. Covering roughly two acres, the approximately 193,000-gross-square-foot Carroll A. Campbell Jr. U.S. Courthouse will include seven courtrooms and nine chambers to accommodate nine judges. Once complete, the facility will also provide workspace for the U.S. Marshals Service, the U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services System, the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and a federal public defender’s office.
Current status
GSA’s project team completed its work to build the new federal courthouse in Greenville in July 2021.
