Freedom 250 Cornerstone Unveiled at Huntsville U.S. Courthouse Dedication

In Huntsville, Alabama, we marked a first for Freedom 250. GSA Administrator Edward C. Forst and U.S. Senator Katie Britt helped celebrate the first commemorative cornerstone tied to America’s 250th anniversary.

The ceremony took place at the new Huntsville U.S. Courthouse, which was funded by Congress during President Trump’s first term and supports the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court. Following completion of the new courthouse, the historic former federal courthouse in Huntsville was conveyed to the city, and judicial functions were consolidated, improving operational efficiency and reducing long-term leasing costs.

Discover how this cornerstone sets the tone for Freedom 250 projects nationwide.

The plaque displays the United States seal, the name of the President, and the date February 17, 2026, marking the Freedom 250 commemorative cornerstone.
