The D. Chavez Federal Building is a 14-story federal courthouse and office building. The building is located at 500 Gold Avenue in downtown Albuquerque, and is named after U.S. Senator Dionisio (“Dennis”) Chavez who served from 1935 to 1962.
The building was built in 1965 and contains a basement, an underground parking garage and 14 upper floors. The construction consists of a steel frame with reinforced concrete. The site occupies one-half city block and contains approximately 300,000 square feet. This building has a vending machine and parking available close by.
Tenants in this building include the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, U.S. Bankruptcy Court, Veterans Administration and the U.S. Postal Service.

When a military installation or Government - related facility(whether or not specifically named) is located partially within more than one city or county boundary, the applicable per diem rate for the entire installation or facility is the higher of the rates which apply to the cities and / or counties, even though part(s) of such activities may be located outside the defined per diem locality.
