“The General Services Administration (GSA) Direct Client Support Division (DCS) truly cares about their employees in many ways. Management invests in our personal and professional growth. Our Supervisor, Director, and even our Federal Acquisition Service (FAS) Regional Commissioner speak to us on a regular basis just to see how we are doing. They want to make sure we are doing alright and offer their assistance in any manner if we may require so. We are consistently reminded that we have training dollars available so we may take advantage of off-site developmental opportunities to further our career advancement.
Our culture at GSA DCS is the most amazing I have ever experienced. We all work together to complete the same mission which is to support our customer, the U.S. Army Contracting Command, Redstone Arsenal, AL (ACC-R). We of course all have different personal values and behaviors but we all share the same professional values and behaviors which are a strong commitment to the mission. This actually makes our jobs easier as we all work together very well. We are paid very well for the work we do and our leadership allows us to be very autonomous due to the complexity and quality of our work product. Our leadership trusts its employees which is the most valuable benefit that I believe could be offered.
The GSA leadership for DCS has created a circle around the group that allows us to feel like a family. We can all speak openly with one another and speak freely with our leadership about issues we may be experiencing both personally and professionally. They support our ideas and push us to do things that will make us better contracting professionals. A healthy work-life balance is important to our leadership and they follow it on a consistent basis. They do not want their employees burned out due to an overload of work.
The GSA DCS has been the best organization I have ever worked for and I have no plans of leaving any time soon. This is truly the first career position where I look forward to coming to work because I’m extremely happy day in and day out.”
