Various aspects of acquisition management are carried out by the Office of Acquisition Policy (OAP) under the guidance of the Chief Acquisition Officer and the Senior Procurement Executive. The office mission is to strengthen federal acquisition policy and operations. OAP leads positive change in acquisition policy through its role on the Federal Acquisition Regulatory Council to issue and maintain the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) as well as through GSA acquisition policy, guidance, and reporting to stakeholders.
