GSA’s Suspension & Debarment (S&D) Division operates an internship program that seeks law students for full-time summer and part-time Fall and Spring semester internships. This division handles Federal Government suspension and debarment cases, agency protests, and acquisition policy matters.
The S&D process protects the Federal Government from fraud, waste and abuse by using a number of tools to avoid doing business with non-responsible contractors. Suspension and debarment actions prevent companies and individuals from participating in Government contracts, subcontracts, loans, grants and other assistance programs. Suspension and debarment practices regarding procurement are governed by the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) subpart 9.4.
Our interns will be fully integrated into the Suspension & Debarment Division’s workflow, including managing their own suspension and debarment cases. Suspension & Debarment Division interns receive mentoring from staff and are provided multiple opportunities to learn about governmentwide suspension and debarment/contracting/procurement issues, meet other lawyers who work in procurement policy, and engage in networking opportunities throughout the course of the internship.
