eRETA User Account Request Process
Applying for eRETA access and have a question about the application process outlined below? Contact eRETA@gsa.gov
Step 1:
In addition to conferring with your colleagues and/or Supervisor on which Agency Bureau Code(s) you require, please download the list of eRETA Agency Bureau Codes [XLSX - 96 KB] [Updated September 2023] for the listing of your Agency Bureau Codes to choose from before selecting either Option 1 or 2.
- Option 1: Complete the eRETA User Account Request Form electronically here. Once completed, you'll receive an email with a copy of your responses. Forward that email to your supervisor for affirmation (see Step 2). If you are unable to open this form, then please revert to Option 2.
- Option 2: Download and complete the eRETA User Account Request Form [XLSX - 74 KB] in Excel. Once completed, forward that form to your supervisor for affirmation (see Step 2).
Step 2:
Send your application to your Supervisor/Acting Supervisor requesting that s/he do the following:
a) review your request, and
b) forward your email to eRETA@gsa.gov, and "cc" you, along with
c) the statement affirming your request for access.
Note: The Supervisor's/Acting Supervisor's email serves as affirmation of your need for access to eRETA.
Step 3:
After your request is processed and all approvals granted, the GSA National Application Helpdesk will send a "Welcome to eRETA" email provided in your application.
Question: How long should it take for me to gain access after my supervisor forwards my application?
Answer: It should take no longer than 3 business days. If it takes longer or if you experience any issues, reach out to eRETA@gsa.gov.
*This Q&A and many others can also be found on our 'Training and FAQs' page, accessible in the left pane navigation bar above.
NOTE
: You must wait to act on the "Welcome message" until eRETA Admin sends you notification (within 3 business days) to proceed with Step 1 of that email.
Once you have received word from eRETA Admin that you are now "Registered As An eRETA User!," you can proceed with Step 1 in the "Welcome to eRETA" message in obtaining your password.
To help avoid login issues, please make sure to select to receive the "Phone/Text" option of receiving your access code.
The eRETA Admin does not control access to eRETA, so for any access related issues, you must contact the PBS National Application Helpdesk listed on your "Welcome to eRETA" email.
