Our agency is committed to adopting the ethical use of AI to maximize how government works. Here’s how we implement governance, develop resources, and build community.
AI governance
While AI has the potential to vastly improve our business practices, we want to ensure risk mitigation and compliance with legal standards. To help us monitor and mitigate these risks, we have established our governance framework, including:
- The Chief AI Officer, who will establish processes to measure and evaluate AI performance, and oversees our AI plans, compliance, and inventory.
- The AI Governance Board, which will serve as a decisional board to oversee and coordinate the agency’s activities related to AI.
- The AI Safety Team, which will operationalize the AI Governance Board’s risk posture by developing a risk rubric, and manage intake of use cases while identify all rights and safety.
By engaging our experts throughout the agency, we can ensure we are moving forward with the ethical use of AI. Our directive gives guidelines for using AI safely and responsibly.
