White House Liaison
Laila ElGohary is the White House Liaison for the U.S. General Services Administration.
As the White House Liaison, ElGohary will help raise the profile of GSA within the White House and serve as a connection between the Executive Branch and GSA. She is also responsible for the appointment process of GSA leadership positions and serves as a collaborator with other federal agencies to help ensure support for the Administration’s key initiatives.
ElGohary brings substantial technology experience to the position along with a strong background working in government, having served under the Obama Administration White House as Director of Technology and Operations at the Office of Presidential Personnel.
Prior to joining GSA, she was Deputy Chief Technology Officer for the Biden campaign, and Chief Technology Officer for the first virtual, Emmy-nominated inauguration in history.
ElGohary has run advocacy campaigns on five continents, and has worked extensively to support working families and fair wages for all. She has provided expertise in the design of data systems and advised on communication strategies and political planning.
ElGohary is a graduate of American University in Cairo, where she received her bachelor's degree in Political Science and a minor in Philosophy.
