The Jack Brooks Federal Building is located at 300 Willow Street in Beaumont, Texas. The building is named after Congressman Jack Brooks who served in Congress for more than 40 years. Occupying a full city block, it is located in the heart of downtown Beaumont, Texas. This three-story limestone neoclassical structure is a contributing element of the Beaumont Commercial Historic District and is a symbol of the federal presence in Beaumont, Texas for over 65 years. This building is unique because it was built in two phases thus making the building two different heights. The original construction consisted of three stories plus an attic and basement and was completed in 1934. In 1974, two additional stories and a basement were added.
