FSCAC Initial Priority Initiatives
The Federal Secure Cloud Advisory Committee (FSCAC) met on July 20, 2023 and completed the vote on the prioritization of the Committee’s initiatives. The priorities approved are as follows:
- CSP Authorization Improvements.
- ConMon Process Improvements.
- Automation Initiatives and Opportunities.
The FSCAC is statutorily required under the James M. Inhofe National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2023, and thus formally established under the Federal Advisory Committee Act, or “FACA,” as of our Charter’s official filing date of February 28, 2023. The majority of the work of this Committee will be focused around the FedRAMP Authorization Act of 2022’s statutory requirements and purpose, specifically to:
- Examine the operations of FedRAMP and determine ways that authorization processes can continuously be improved.
- Collect information and feedback on agency compliance with and implementation of FedRAMP requirements.
- Serve as a forum that facilitates communication and collaboration among the FedRAMP stakeholder community.
The Committee’s next steps include meeting again in October to determine how best to divide and execute on all three priorities concurrently, clarifying the scope and deliverables around each initiative, and receiving additional in-depth information from subject matter experts on each initiative.
To prepare for the next meeting, an email has been sent to all FSCAC members requesting their individual input regarding the three initiatives, such as any outstanding questions, suggested scope, next step activities, etc. Their individual input will be compiled into a document to be publicly shared and discussed in the next open meeting as well as inform the specifics of the agenda.
Should you have any questions or feedback regarding the upcoming work and/or priorities of this Committee, please contact me at any time.
Cordially,
Ann Lewis
FSCAC Chair
